Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: Up to £28,700 depending on experience
A world-leading aerospace manufacturing company is seeking an Upholsterer / Upholstery Operative to join its specialist manufacturing team.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience working with foam, fabrics, leather, adhesives and hand tools. Previous upholstery experience is preferred, although candidates with relevant manufacturing or transferable skills will be considered.

Duties
- Cut materials and components using drawings, templates and work instructions
- Shape foam using cutting tools
- Apply adhesives using spatula, brush and spray gun
- Bond materials to create finished components
- Use hand tools including scissors and knives
- Cover components with fabric and leather
- Dress sewn covers onto cushions and assemblies
- Maintain product traceability and quality standards
- Complete rework when required
- Keep tools and equipment clean and report faults
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow Health & Safety procedures
- Carry out other reasonable production duties as required

Requirements
- GCSE level education or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing or production experience
- Upholstery experience preferred
- Experience shaping or building foam advantageous
- Confident using small hand tools
- Ability to read technical drawings or templates
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a reliable approach
This role would suit candidates from upholstery, furniture production, automotive trim, aircraft interiors, soft furnishings or similar manufacturing backgrounds.
