In the UK, our Electrical division plays a critical role in supporting customers across key industries, including rapidly growing hyperscale data centre environments.

We are looking for a Field Service Commissioning Engineer who will provide a service to Eaton customers, to carry out preventative maintenance on our UPS’s manufactured within the Eaton Electrical business and to maintain other existing UPS equipment to fulfil customer requirements in line with Eaton Safety requirements. You will focus on hyperscale data centers in the region.

Location: UK, South East.

What You’ll Do

  • Commissioning of large UPS systems.
  • Ability to understand on-line and line-interactive UPS systems.
  • Ability to understand and create commissioning scripts.
  • Carry out site acceptance testing on customer sites.
  • Ability to use and understand power quality meters.
  • Experience in thermography and reporting.
  • Battery experience – VRLA and Lithium Ion.
  • You will setup and configure remote monitoring software.
  • You will communicate with key stakeholders on a technical level.
  • Applies anti-static policies and procedures.
  • Applies ECN process to all repairs.

Qualifications

  • Educated to a HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent

Skills

  • Possessing three phase electrical installation or maintenance knowledge
  • A good understanding of UPS systems is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of industrial communication protocols such as: Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP
  • Knowledgeable of programming of PLC control systems (power control, generator control, SCADA or process control
