Urban Designer / Masterplanner
Stirling | Inverness | Oban
Bracewell is looking to expand its Strategic Design + Masterplanning team with the appointment of a talented Urban Designer / Masterplanner.
As a growing architectural practice, we help clients unlock sites and create sustainable, distinctive and deliverable places across Scotland and the UK.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team working on a diverse portfolio of residential, mixed-use and strategic development projects. From strategic land promotion and vision studies through to masterplans, development frameworks and planning submissions, you'll help shape places from the earliest concepts through to delivery.
Working closely with our Strategic Design + Masterplanning Lead and wider architectural team, you'll develop imaginative, robust and commercially deliverable design solutions that respond to planning policy, landscape, movement, infrastructure, biodiversity and community aspirations.
Key Responsibilities

- Enjoy turning complex site opportunities and constraints into clear, compelling and well-considered masterplans.
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, and local authorities.

Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline, with a postgraduate qualification in Urban Design desirable.
- Experience of residential and mixed-use masterplanning projects.
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- Strong design, analytical, and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
- An eye for visual storytelling and the ability to communicate ideas through compelling graphics and presentations.

Bracewell operates from studios in Stirling, Inverness, and Oban, with this role ideally based in Stirling. You'll collaborate across all three offices, benefiting from the knowledge and experience of our wider team while helping to shape nationally significant projects throughout Scotland and beyond.

Location
Our Stirling studio is located within Stirling University Innovation Park, offering an exceptional working environment with on-site amenities including cafés and corporate membership rates at the University Sports Centre. Our Inverness office will soon relocate to Inverness Campus.
