The Role

We are looking for a US Finance Manager to join the US Finance Team. To provide a robust financial control, reporting and budgeting function for US operations with revenue of c$130 million. The role reports into the US Head of Financial Control and will have 2 direct reports.

The team will be based in the UK Head Office in Leeds alongside the UK and Group functions. This is a hybrid role, working in our Leeds office 2-3 days a week.

The Role

Preparation of US month end management accounts, accruals and prepayments, and reporting on financial performance. Reviewing and reconciling financial and operational data and providing support to business stakeholders. Key Finance Lead for significant capital investment program being deployed in the US gym estate, including facilities, fixed assets and capitalised salaries reporting and forecasting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of management accounts, month end schedules, accruals and prepayments.
  • Reconciliation and reporting of key income statement lines across revenue, operating expenses and head office costs.
  • Reporting of capital expenditure and maintenance of the FAR
  • Monthly review of results and commentary on variances.
  • Preparation of budgets and periodic reforecasts alongside the US Commercial Finance function.
  • Partnering with budget holders to assist them in managing costs
  • Liaison with the wider business as needed to support their understanding of financial results.
  • Assist with year-end audit and US Tax compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow information.
  • Involvement in other ad hoc areas as requested.
  • Other reasonable duties or attendance at meetings as required.

Key focus area - Reporting & Forecasting:

Alongside traditional month end accounting and forecasting, this role will also own reporting and forecasting for:

  • Facilities / R&M
  • Fixed Assets (New Sites / Current Sites)
  • Capitalised Salaries

The Person

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with 2+ years PQE and proven experience delivering monthly accounting.
  • Passionate about PureGym and understands how accounting function can best serve wider business needs.
  • A high achiever who is looking to be part of an energetic, fast growing business.
  • Adaptive to significant changes within the business and the use of AI
  • Someone who is happy to be hands on and work on their own initiative but also be able to work together as a team, motivating and leading a team to meet key deadlines such as the month end accounts.
  • Can build strong working relationships and networks to enable success – across and outside of the business.
  • Challenges status quo, always seeking ways to improve processes to increase efficiency and add value.
  • Strong attention to detail, and proven ability to work to deadlines through effective time management.
  • Experienced line manager, including setting objectives, delivering appraisals, and managing performance
  • Excellent excel skills.
  • Experience of working with Medius, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and IBM Planning & Anaytics would be an advantage, but not essential.
