UAT Test Manager – SAP S/4HANA Transformation

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced UAT Test Manager to join a major public-sector organisation and play a pivotal role in the delivery of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programme.
This is a high-profile, business-critical transformation that will deliver significant change across processes, technology, people, and operating models. As UAT Test Manager, you will take ownership of the User Acceptance Testing strategy and delivery, ensuring that the new SAP S/4HANA solution is fully validated from a business and operational perspective before deployment.
This is a senior stakeholder-facing role requiring an individual who can operate confidently at C-suite and executive level, influence senior business leaders, and bring together complex stakeholder groups across technology, transformation, and the wider organisation.
You will be instrumental in ensuring that the programme delivers a solution that is fit for purpose, meets business requirements, and is ready for successful adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the overall UAT strategy, approach, planning, and execution across the SAP S/4HANA transformation programme.
- Develop and maintain the UAT strategy, framework, governance, entry/exit criteria, and quality gates.
- Lead the end-to-end UAT lifecycle, from preparation and business readiness through to execution, defect management, sign-off, and deployment readiness.
- Establish effective UAT governance, reporting, and controls across a complex transformation environment.
- Work closely with programme leadership, business process owners, SAP functional teams, systems integrators, IT, change, and business representatives.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, Directors, and C-suite executives, providing clear and concise updates on testing progress, risks, issues, and readiness.
- Manage and coordinate business users and subject matter experts involved in UAT, ensuring they are appropriately prepared and supported.
- Define testing scope, scenarios, test conditions, and acceptance criteria in conjunction with business stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate coverage across SAP S/4HANA processes, integrations, data, roles, and end-to-end business journeys.
- Oversee defect management, prioritisation, and resolution, ensuring that critical issues are understood and appropriately managed.
- Provide robust assessment of business readiness and testing exit criteria.
- Produce executive-level reporting and dashboards, translating complex testing information into clear business decisions and recommendations.
- Identify, manage, and escalate testing risks, dependencies, and issues.
- Work collaboratively with wider test management teams covering System Integration Testing, functional testing, data migration, performance, and other programme testing disciplines.
- Ensure UAT is fully aligned with the programme's wider business readiness, change, training, and deployment strategy.
- Support go-live decision-making and provide assurance to programme and executive leadership.
- Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the programme.

About You
You will be an accomplished Test Manager/UAT Lead with significant experience delivering testing within complex, enterprise-scale transformation programmes.
You will be particularly effective in environments where technology, business transformation, and organisational change come together, and will be comfortable challenging senior stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience as a UAT Test Manager, Senior Test Manager on large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong experience delivering UAT within complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrable experience managing testing across multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.
- Extensive experience working with Senior Leadership, Directors, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
- Experience presenting testing status, risks, issues, and recommendations to executive-level governance forums.
- Strong experience in test governance, planning, execution, defect management, and reporting.
- Experience managing business users, SMEs, and distributed testing teams.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, governance, and quality assurance.
- Experience working within large, complex, and highly regulated organisations, ideally within the public sector.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and bring diverse stakeholder groups together.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with the confidence to challenge when required.
