Role Description
The Used Car Manager role at Peoples Ford is a full-time, on-site position based in Edinburgh. The Used Car Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the used car department, including stock acquisition, pricing, presentation, and online listings. This role includes managing and coaching the sales team, monitoring performance against targets, and ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process. The Used Car Manager will analyze market trends, maintain optimal stock levels, and work closely with other departments to ensure efficient preparation and delivery of vehicles. The role also involves handling customer queries, negotiating deals, managing part-exchange valuations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

- Strong background in automotive sales and used car operations, including stock management, pricing, and market analysis.
- Proven experience in team leadership, with skills in performance management, coaching, and motivating sales professionals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term customer relationships and handle negotiations confidently.
- Solid business and commercial awareness, including understanding of profitability, margins, and dealership KPIs.
- Competence with dealership management systems and digital sales platforms; comfortable using online tools for listings and lead management.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced retail environment, manage multiple priorities, and make data-informed decisions.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the motor trade, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.
- Valid UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
