Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Used Car Sales Executive role based at the Evans Halshaw dealership in Edinburgh. The role focuses on guiding customers through the full used car sales journey, including greeting and qualifying customers, identifying their needs, and recommending suitable vehicles and finance options. The Used Car Sales Executive will follow up leads, manage a personal sales pipeline, and maintain regular contact with customers to support repeat and referral business. The role also involves:
- Keeping the forecourt and showroom displays up to date
- Collaborating with colleagues in service and administration
- Meeting agreed sales, customer satisfaction, and compliance targets
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive or retail sales, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and present information clearly.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, combined with a consultative approach to understanding customer needs and offering suitable solutions.
- Comfortable working with digital tools and dealership systems, including CRM software, online lead management, and basic MS Office applications.
- Good numerical and administrative skills to handle finance quotations, part-exchange valuations, and accurate completion of paperwork.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage a busy workload, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Awareness of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements in automotive sales and finance, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Valid UK driving licence and the ability to move vehicles safely around the site.
- Previous experience in the motor trade, particularly in used car sales, is desirable but not essential where strong transferable sales skills are demonstrated.
