Role Overview

As the Used Car Manager for OMODA & JAECOO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the commercial success of our used vehicle operations in the UK. You will be responsible for defining the used car strategy, optimizing dealer network performance, and establishing a robust "OJ Approved" proposition. By collaborating closely with our Finance, Residual Value (RV), and Network Development teams, you will ensure our used car performance supports overall brand equity, protects long-term vehicle values, and delivers a mainstream premium experience to our customers.

Responsibilities

Performance & Network Leadership

  • Track and Optimize Performance: Monitor network-wide used car sales, stock turn, and profitability metrics. Identify market trends and implement targeted actions to drive volume and margin.
  • Dealer Network Leadership: Partner directly with the franchise dealer network to maximize their used car operations. Provide guidance on stock acquisition, pricing strategies, and forecourt presentation to ensure brand standards are consistently met.
  • Commercial Campaigns: Collaborate closely with internal finance teams and external financial services partners to design, launch, and manage compelling used car retail finance campaigns that drive dealer sales and customer acquisition.

Strategic Development & RV Protection

  • OJ Approved Program Management: Take ownership of the OJ Approved used car program. Continuously develop and refine program pillars—such as warranty offerings, multi-point inspection standards, and customer promises—to ensure a highly competitive market position.
  • Protecting Residual Values: Work hand-in-hand with the RV and Remarketing teams. Actively manage supply channels and support pricing strategies to safeguard brand equity and enhance long-term residual values across all model lines.

Remarketing & Stock Management

  • Defleet Operations: Support managing the return and disposal of internal company vehicles, press cars, and early demonstrator fleets, ensuring a steady, disciplined supply of quality used stock to the network.

Digital Strategy & Compliance

  • Network Auditing: Implement and oversee an audit process to ensure the franchise network strictly adheres to OJ Approved program standards, including multi-point check compliance and vehicle presentation.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously track competitor used car pricing, market supply levels, and broader economic factors that could impact retail demand or trade valuations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Used Car Management role, either at the OEM level or as a senior manager within a large dealer group.
  • Deep understanding of the UK used car market, including trade valuations (e.g., CAP HPI), auction channels, and remarketing logistics.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze performance data and build actionable sales strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a track record of successfully influencing and motivating a franchise dealer network.
  • Experience in developing, refining, or managing an OEM "Approved Used" program is highly desirable.
