Midweight UX/UI Designer – Permanent
Location: Remote UK with travel to Glasgow 1–2 times per month
Employment: Permanent
We’re looking for a talented Midweight UX/UI Designer to join a dedicated digital team supporting a high-profile, global financial services organisation.
This is a great opportunity for an all-round designer who combines strong UX and product thinking with polished visual/UI design skills. You’ll work across a varied portfolio of digital experiences, including customer-facing applications, internal tools, content-rich websites, mobile experiences and digital communications.
The role
Working within a collaborative, international team, you’ll contribute throughout the end-to-end design process – from discovery and initial concepts through to wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI and developer hand-off.
You’ll:
- Design intuitive, accessible experiences across web and mobile
- Create user flows, site architecture, wireframes and interactive prototypes
- Produce polished, high-fidelity UI designs
- Work extensively in Figma, including components and design systems
- Contribute to user research and usability testing, iterating designs based on feedback
- Work within established brand and visual guidelines
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers, content strategists and project managers
- Present your work to stakeholders, clearly articulating your design process, decisions and rationale
- Support a mixture of larger digital products and smaller digital assets

What we're looking for
You’ll ideally have:
- Around 3+ years' experience in UX/UI, Product Design or Digital Product Design
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both UX thinking and high-quality visual/UI design
- Excellent Figma skills
- Experience taking digital products through the design lifecycle, from user flows and wireframes through to prototypes and final UI
- Strong understanding of responsive design, interaction design, typography, layout and visual hierarchy
- Experience designing for web and ideally mobile
- Familiarity with design systems, components and component libraries
- Understanding of usability testing and user-centred design principles
- Awareness of WCAG/accessibility and inclusive design
- Experience collaborating with developers and other cross-functional teams
- The confidence to present your work and explain why you've made particular design decisions

Experience within a large, complex or regulated organisation would be advantageous, but financial services experience isn't essential.
Adobe Creative Suite and exposure to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) would also be useful but aren't prerequisites.
