Location

Worcestershire (Hybrid)

Note: Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role.

About the Role

Akoni Technologies is recruiting an experienced UI/UX Designer on behalf of our client to support the enhancement and modernisation of a suite of operational software applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who enjoys solving complex user experience challenges within enterprise and technical environments. You will work closely with product owners, software developers, business stakeholders, and end users to simplify workflows, improve usability, and create intuitive digital experiences that increase productivity and user satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience transforming engineering-led or legacy applications into modern, user-centred solutions while balancing user needs with technical constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
  • Analyse existing operational software and identify opportunities to improve usability.
  • Simplify complex workflows and business processes into intuitive user experiences.
  • Create user journeys, personas, information architecture, and interaction flows.
  • Produce high-quality wireframes, mock-ups, interactive prototypes, and UI designs.
  • Develop and maintain reusable design systems and component libraries.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
  • Work with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into user-centred solutions.
  • Facilitate design workshops and usability testing sessions.
  • Iterate designs based on user feedback and analytics.
  • Ensure consistency across multiple products and platforms.
  • Deliver high-quality outputs within agreed project timelines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
