📍 UK Based | SC Clearance (or SC Eligible) Required
We're working with a large organisation on a major Microsoft Purview rollout that will impact around 67,000 employees. The programme focuses on data classification, labelling and migration, and we're looking for an experienced User Researcher to help ensure the change is rolled out in a way that genuinely works for the people using it every day.
The Opportunity
This is a highly visible role where you'll play a key part in shaping how users interact with and understand data classification across the organisation. You'll be embedded within the wider programme, gathering feedback from users, testing assumptions, and ensuring that the language, processes and tooling introduced are intuitive and effective. Your research won't sit on a shelf. It will directly influence decisions around classification labels, user guidance and the overall rollout approach.

What You'll Be Doing
- Building user personas based on different data handling behaviours across the organisation
- Understanding how employees currently think about data sensitivity and classification
- Identifying pain points and challenges within existing processes
- Testing and refining classification labels, naming conventions and descriptions with real users
- Gathering feedback from pilot groups and usability testing activities
- Providing actionable insights that help improve each phase of the rollout
- Running a variety of research activities, including:
- User interviews across multiple stakeholder groups
- Surveys and feedback sessions
- Process reviews alongside Business Analysts
- Playback sessions to share findings and influence programme decisions
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering user research within large and complex environments
- Strong experience across mixed research methods, including interviews, surveys, usability testing and process analysis
- The ability to turn research findings into practical recommendations that delivery teams can act upon
- Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and presenting findings clearly and confidently
- Previous public sector experience would be advantageous
- SC Clearance, or eligibility to obtain it, is essential
