Job Title: Senior User Researcher

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior User Researcher to work for our client within the Public Sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in one of various locations across the UK such as Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool or Bristol.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior User Researcher to deliver user insights that inform policy, service design, and product development. Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, you will conduct research across end-to-end user journeys, ensuring services are designed around user needs and supporting the delivery of accessible, high-quality digital services. This is an opportunity to influence service strategy, champion user-centred design practices, and drive evidence-based decision-making across complex programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead user research activities across complex digital services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative research using appropriate methodologies across end-to-end user journeys.
  • Analyse and synthesise research findings into actionable insights that support service improvements and strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, and service teams to embed user feedback into service delivery.
  • Present research findings to stakeholders and senior leaders, influencing decision-making and promoting user-centred practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
