About Amber Labs

Amber Labs is a people-first technology and digital transformation consultancy, delivering secure and scalable solutions across highly regulated environments, including UK Government. We pride ourselves on creating a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment where people can share ideas, learn from one another and take ownership of their work.

You'll work alongside talented specialists across User Research, Service Design, Product, Data, Engineering and Delivery, giving you the opportunity to contribute to genuinely multidisciplinary teams.

The Role

We're looking for a User Researcher who can take ownership of research from planning and methodology selection through to analysis, synthesis and communicating insight. You'll help teams understand their users, identify needs and pain points, and turn research findings into actionable improvements to government services. You'll work across the GDS service lifecycle, supporting teams through Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live.

What you'll be doing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
