About The Role

At BT Consumer, we're building experiences, products and propositions used by millions of customers across the BT, EE and Plusnet brands.

As a Senior User Researcher, you'll play a key role in helping the business make customer-centred decisions through a blend of generative and evaluative research. You'll work across product, proposition, service and brand initiatives, partnering with teams across Product, Design, Commercial, Marketing and Strategy to ensure customer needs are reflected in decision-making.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role for someone who enjoys tackling complex problems, influencing stakeholders and translating customer insight into meaningful action.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end user research across digital products, propositions, services and customer journeys.
  • Conduct both generative and evaluative research to identify customer needs, validate ideas and reduce risk.
  • Design and deliver a range of research activities including:
    • Interviews
    • Usability testing
    • Concept testing
    • Journey research
    • In-home research
    • Lab-based research
    • Retail and contact centre research
  • Facilitate workshops, playback sessions and collaborative activities with stakeholders.
  • Influence product, proposition and business decisions through evidence-based recommendations.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, Commercial, Brand, Strategy and Compliance teams.
  • Help identify and prioritise high-value research opportunities across BT Consumer.
  • Support the development of research capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
