Inside IR35 Rate: £350.00 - £390 per day (Umbrella)
Location: Hbird 2 days onsite telford per week
Duration: 6 Months
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary team working on a high-profile digital service focused on improving user journeys, accessibility, and service adoption.
You'll play a key role in understanding how users interact with digital services, identifying pain points, and providing evidence-based insights that shape future product and service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver user research activities across discovery and design phases.
- Conduct interviews, usability testing, and user analysis.
- Analyse research findings, service data, and stakeholder feedback.
- Create user journey maps, personas, and insight reports.
- Identify user needs, barriers, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the testing and validation of new service concepts and designs.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Business Analysis, and Delivery teams.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering user research within Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong qualitative research skills, including interviews and usability testing.
- Experience translating research insights into actionable recommendations.
- Experience producing journey maps, personas, and research outputs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within government or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of GDS standards and user-centred design practices.
- Experience with digital identity, security, fraud prevention, or account management services.
- Experience supporting discovery and transformation programmes.

You'll be a curious and user-focused researcher who is passionate about understanding user behaviour and improving digital experiences. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels and using research evidence to influence design and delivery decisions.
