User Researcher
Salary: £38,500–£47,000 per annum
Location: Leeds, with access to other UK office and client locations
Working Arrangement: Hybrid, with travel to an office or client site typically required at least two days per week
Contract: Full-time
Overview
Our client, a growing digital consultancy, is seeking a User Researcher to support the design and improvement of user-centred digital services.
The role will involve planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research, testing services throughout development and translating findings into clear recommendations for design and business decisions. Working within multidisciplinary Agile teams, the successful candidate will help colleagues and clients better understand user needs and apply research evidence throughout the service lifecycle.
This opportunity is suited to a user researcher with strong practical research skills and some experience advising others on user-centred service design, with clear scope for further professional and consulting development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver user research to support product and service design.
- Select appropriate research methods for different stages of the service lifecycle.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to generate actionable insights.
- Support usability testing and service evaluation sessions.
- Use appropriate tools to collect, analyse and interpret research data.
- Produce clear research reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Translate research evidence into practical design, business and customer recommendations.
- Help multidisciplinary teams build empathy and understanding for service users.
- Collaborate with designers, product owners, developers and other Agile team members.
- Use research findings and service metrics to define and improve services.
- Explain research-led decisions clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops with project teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the wider research and design community by sharing effective practice.

Requirements
- Experience working with senior stakeholders.
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Working knowledge of user-centred design principles and practices.
- Ability to identify suitable research approaches for different project stages.
- Understanding of how research findings can support client strategic objectives.
- Ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.
- Confidence responding constructively to stakeholder questions and challenges.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Candidates must be located within reasonable travelling distance of one of the organisation’s UK offices and be willing to travel to office or client sites. Depending on client requirements, on-site attendance will normally be required for at least two days per week.
The advertised salary range represents the entry point for this level, with scope for progression within the role.
