The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced US/UK Tax Associate Director to join a highly regarded and growing Private Client tax team in London. The team advises a diverse portfolio of US-connected individuals, HNWIs, entrepreneurs and internationally mobile business owners, with demand for specialist US/UK tax advice continuing to grow. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality client advice while contributing to client relationship management, business development and the continued growth of the US/UK tax offering.
The Role
As an Associate Director within the US/UK Private Client team, you will work closely with Partners and Directors to advise a diverse portfolio of clients on complex cross-border tax matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising US citizens and other US-connected individuals who are UK resident, including high-net-worth individuals and internationally mobile clients.
- Advising non-US individuals and families with US interests, investments, businesses or other US tax considerations.
- Providing advice across a broad range of US and UK personal tax matters, considering the interaction between the two jurisdictions.
- Advising transatlantic entrepreneurs and business owners throughout the lifecycle of their businesses.
- Supporting clients with the tax implications of establishing, expanding or restructuring businesses across the UK and US.
- Working alongside Partners and Directors on complex and high-value advisory assignments.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for delivering technically robust and commercially focused advice.
- Developing strong, trusted relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact for their ongoing US/UK tax requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients and supporting the wider team with business development.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Private Client, Corporate Tax, Global Mobility and other specialist tax teams where appropriate.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the firm's US/UK tax proposition.

The Clients
You will work with a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners and internationally connected families. The client base is diverse, ranging from individuals with relatively straightforward US/UK connections through to complex entrepreneurs and business owners with substantial interests across both jurisdictions. The role will therefore provide exposure to a broad range of technical and commercially interesting US/UK tax issues, alongside the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with clients.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced tax professional with a strong background in US/UK or transatlantic taxation, ideally gained within a professional services environment. To be considered, you will ideally have:
- CTA qualification or an equivalent professional tax qualification.
- Strong experience advising on US and/or UK tax matters, with a particular focus on US-connected clients.
- Experience advising transatlantic individuals, entrepreneurs and/or businesses.
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to apply this to complex client situations.
- Experience managing client relationships and taking ownership of a portfolio of work.
- The ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients and other stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how to identify and develop client opportunities.
- Experience working collaboratively with colleagues across different tax disciplines.
- An Enrolled Agent (EA) qualification would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
