What You’ll Do

Depending on your level of experience, your role may include:

• Supporting or leading the development and delivery of utilities and energy strategies across concept design, master-planning, planning and post-planning stages.
• Procuring and interpreting utility asset records, mapping existing infrastructure, and identifying risks or opportunities.
• Advising on renewables integration, energy storage and smart energy systems.
• Carrying out load calculations for energy and water to understand development demands and inform capacity assessments.
• Reviewing network capacity, and identifying where new connections, upgrades, or onsite generation could unlock development potential.
• Liaising with network operators and developers to coordinate connection and diversion strategies, capacity solutions, and sustainability-aligned delivery plans.
• Supporting energy and sustainability appraisals, including feasibility assessments for renewables and low-carbon technologies.
• Preparing reports, drawings and client-facing deliverables that translate technical findings into clear, actionable advice.
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders — from architects and engineers to planning consultants and investors.

At Senior Consultant level, you will also:

• Lead projects and client relationships.
• Oversee and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to business development, bid writing, and thought leadership within the advisory team.
• Shape internal processes and innovation around smart energy and sustainable infrastructure.

What You’ll Bring

Whilst we expect a baseline knowledge of the subject matter of utilities, we’re open to applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. What matters most is your curiosity, learning potential, communication skills and enthusiasm for the energy transformation.

Key attributes include:

• Experience within a utilities, MEP, civil engineering or infrastructure related-role OR other property/built environment consultant or technical role with demonstrable transferrable skills and knowledge;
• Understanding of the basics of utilities infrastructure and its role in the built environment;
• A genuine interest in utilities, energy, sustainability and net-zero;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to simplify technical information for non-technical audiences;
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
• A team-focused, proactive attitude with the drive to learn, share ideas and grow.

For Senior Consultant+ roles, you’ll also bring:

• Several years of relevant consultancy experience in utilities, MEP, energy or sustainability;
• Proven ability to manage projects, budgets and client relationships;
• Strong technical knowledge of utility infrastructure planning or renewable energy systems;
• The ability to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team leadership.
