Utilities Coordinator – Vistry South East Midlands (Enderby Office)
Role Overview
In a Nutshell…
Join our team at Vistry South East Midlands in Enderby, where you’ll take on the crucial role of Utilities Coordinator. This position involves end-to-end management of utility connections, statutory work, and third-party service provisions—spanning from viability appraisal through to project completion.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Requesting quotes and coordinating purchases with commercial teams
- Managing on-site and off-site works per programme
- Identifying risks and delivering value-engineering opportunities to maximise gross profit while ensuring safe, on-time, high-quality delivery
- Supporting a team that aligns with SHE policies, risk management, and design solutions
- Contributing to a culture of collaboration, with flexibility whenever possible
Core Responsibilities
Key Tasks
- Assess utility supply demands—both existing and prospective—to inform new business opportunities
- Ensure utility orders are placed on time and managed within the project programme
- Collaborate with the construction team to finalise utility connection strategies
- Support the commercial department with:
- MEP procurement (enquiries, scope creation, quotation review, pre-order meetings)
- Project utility programme communication and updates
- Monitor and close out any design queries or service issues with the M&E Design Manager
- Assist in payment application reviews for contractual compliance
- Coordinate meter installations, ensuring certification (e.g., for Project Completion) and witnessing where needed
- Develop testing regimes for quality assurance
- Support site teams in securing power and water provisions
- Present service documentation for all Gateway meetings under the L&D strategy
- Maintain stakeholder engagement with internal teams

- Experienced in following legal, SHE policies, and best practice
- Skills in coaching contractors and incorporating their RAMS into our set-up
About You
Requirements
- HNC or equivalent (related term)
- Knowledge of utilities legislation—an essential
- Experience in housebuilding sector projects
- Understanding of procurement processes for:
- ** Provisional Contract Orders (PCOs)**
- Service diversion works
- New development connections
- Technical detail orientation with MEP service delivery expertise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work under pressure and coffee-methodically, ensuring deadlines are met

Desirable
- Specialist utilities qualifications (a plus!)
- Experience with streamlined housebuilders or working with major utilities sector contractors
