Future opportunities | Connectus Utilities

If you have experience in utilities and want to be part of a growing team shaping how essential infrastructure is delivered, we would like to hear from you.

We are building a talent pool for future utilities professionals who want to be part of something meaningful.

At Consultus International Group, our purpose is clear. We help organisations move towards a net zero future, making energy smarter, more resilient and more sustainable. Since 1994, we have grown into an award-winning energy consultancy driven by people who genuinely care about doing the right thing for our clients, each other and the planet.

Connectus Utilities is an integral part of this journey. We support commercial developers, housebuilders and construction partners by coordinating the delivery of essential gas, electricity, water and telecoms infrastructure. It is complex, fast-paced and collaborative work, and it has real impact on how buildings and communities come to life.

As our business continues to grow, we expect to create opportunities within our Connectus team. Initially, these are likely to sit at Utilities Co-ordinator level, with genuine scope to grow into more senior or team leadership roles as the function evolves. In practice, this means coordinating utility connections, managing stakeholders and keeping complex infrastructure projects on track from early planning through to delivery.

Rather than recruit reactively, we want to start a conversation with people who may not be actively looking right now but can see themselves thriving here in the future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who this could suit

You may already be working in utilities, connections, infrastructure, M&E or a related engineering or project delivery environment. You might have experience coordinating multiple parties, translating technical detail into clear actions, and keeping projects moving forward against tight timescales.

You will likely have a solid understanding of how UK utility networks and connection processes work, and feel comfortable operating in that space. You enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders, from clients to network operators and contractors, and know how to keep communication clear and projects progressing. You are organised and naturally curious, able to manage multiple moving parts without losing sight of detail.

Just as importantly, you take pride in delivering a high standard of service, building strong relationships and are motivated by the opportunity to grow, develop and potentially step into leadership over time.

Our team is based in Rochford and we would ideally like people who can spend time with us there. That said, we know utilities expertise is not always local, so we are open to flexible and hybrid arrangements.

Why us

People join us because they want more than just a job. They stay because they feel trusted, supported and able to grow.

You can expect purpose-driven work focused on sustainability and net zero outcomes, alongside a supportive and knowledgeable team that values collaboration over hierarchy.
