Tyréns Hilson Moran are interdisciplinary consultants, engineers and advisors, applying progressive design thinking to shape the environments we live in. We provide a full range of engineering services, exciting innovation and design solutions on a full range of projects from across our network of offices in the UK.

Our recently refurbished London office – the Living Lab – offers a direct link to clients, the ability to further develop our existing relationships and to pursue future opportunities across the city. We also have full view of some of our most iconic designs, including 20 Fenchurch Street ‘the Walkie Talkie’ and 30 St Mary’s Axe ‘The Gherkin’ from our river café space.

We are seeking to employ a full-time Utilities Infrastructure Consultant within our Infrastructure and Environment team. Our existing team are a market-leading provider of utilities and energy infrastructure on some of the UK’s largest and most visible construction/development projects.

Our ‘Infrastructure Services’ team provides technical, commercial and procurement advice to large and often prestigious commercial, residential and mixed-use developers. We tend to support large regeneration and masterplanning projects from early infrastructure planning through to installation and commissioning of multi-utility, foul/surface water/SuDS and mobility services, and uniquely we manage the alteration of existing utility networks in very constrained (often below ground) spaces to de-risk some of the UK’s most prestigious development projects.

We provide expertise in regard to water, wastewater (and SuDS), district heating/cooling, electricity, telecommunication networks and mobility-based solutions.

Your Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Together with our Associates/Associate Directors meet with commercial and residential developers and/or landowners to understand their technical needs and commercial drivers and develop proposals that meet their needs.
  • Once appointed by a client, consult with utility undertakers and other utility, energy and data service providers to understand opportunities, risks and costs associated with our client’s development proposals and advise of these risks, costs and opportunities via meetings, sketches, presentations and reports.
  • Develop utility designs directly and via third parties and coordinate (using our in-house Engineering and CAD Technicians as required), often to support a client’s groundworks tender, whereby tender and contract drawings will be developed.
  • Procure the services of specialist utility and multi-utility contractors and undertakers by developing scopes and specifications as part of a wider Employers Requirement document using drawings and other documents as required. This might be new connections related work, early utility enabling works, or likely both.
  • Manage the delivery of critical utility enabling and new connection works often alongside third-party Project Management and Cost Consultancy Practices.
  • Report back to our client on progress and issue any relevant instructions to contractors.
  • Lead utilities progress meetings as required to progress the works.
  • Review as-constructed data and closeout or reconcile final costs.
  • Using timesheets understand your impact on project costs and profitability.
  • Take ownership of the delivery of all the above under the direction of a Project or Associate Director and utilising wider resources within Tyréns Hilson Moran.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
