Our Swindon facility

Our Swindon facility houses our Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation as well as a CMC pharmaceutical analytical lab services unit that offers ASAP stability.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Utilities Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of utility systems and equipment. You will perform planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position is key to maintaining reliability, compliance, and operational excellence across the site.

Shift: 2 days 2 nights 4 days off

Location: Swindon, UK

100% Onsite

The Role

  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utility systems and associated plant equipment across the site
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance, effective fault diagnosis, and breakdown response
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to maximise equipment reliability, plant uptime, product quality, and energy efficiency
  • Provide technical expertise within a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with production teams, contractors, and project teams to deliver sustainable improvements and operational excellence

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven engineering experience in a maintenance or utilities environment
  • Completed a recognised relevant apprenticeship or equivalent Mechanical or Electrical qualification
  • Strong evidenced fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems and Microsoft Office
  • Essential: experience of HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, chilled water, purified water, cooling towers, vacuum systems, and freeze dryers
  • Desirable: experience of working in a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment
