About The Role
We're looking for a Utilities Supervisor to help lead our Repair & Maintenance teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of operational activities across our water network.
This is a hands on leadership role where you'll support and mentor Utilities Fitters and Trainee Utilities Fitters, drive operational performance, and champion a strong health and safety culture. You'll work closely with colleagues, contractors, customers, and stakeholders to ensure repairs and maintenance activities are completed right first time and to the highest standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise and support Utilities Fitters and Trainee Utilities Fitters in day-to-day operations.
- Carry out site audits covering quality, safety, traffic management, plant, equipment and working practices.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Support the planning and delivery of complex repair and maintenance activities.
- Liaise with highways authorities, contractors, customers and key stakeholders to coordinate works.
- Drive productivity, operational efficiency and a "right first time" approach.
- Investigate customer complaints and support root cause analysis and service improvements.
- Coach, mentor and develop field teams, identifying training and development needs.
- Support performance reviews and progression assessments.
- Participate in the out-of-hours standby rota to support emergency repair activities.
- Support innovation initiatives and continuous improvement across the business.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience within the water industry, ideally in repair and maintenance operations.
- Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills.
- NRSWA Supervisor Units 1-6 and 9.
- National Water Hygiene Card.
- Health & Safety training and knowledge of safe digging and excavation practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
