3t is currently looking to recruit two Utilities Training Instructors on permanent contracts located in Urmston, Manchester, England.

Salary And Benefits Package

  • Salary: £40,000.00 - £45,000.00 per annum
  • Holiday entitlement of 33 days (including mandatory days off to cover Christmas and New Year)
  • HSF Health Plan and Perkbox
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Pension contributions 5% (Employee) & 3% (Employer)

This role is contracted at 40 hours per week. The standard working pattern will be 7.30am to 4.00pm or 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

No previous training experience required. We are looking for experienced utilities professionals and will support successful candidates in gaining teaching and assessor qualifications.

The Role

Role Purpose: To train and assess candidates’ competence against awarding organisation standards and enable them to achieve the required qualification. Training staff are to encourage a good learning experience and promote lifelong learning.

  • Primarily Manchester based, with travel required to other 3t locations or customer sites
  • External relationships with utility contractors and construction-based customers
  • Close liaison with other trainers and planning and quality departments

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Complete all administrative work linked to the qualification and assessments
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of assessments and paperwork in accordance with the awarding organisation requirements and 3t’s own quality requirements
  • Provide prompt information, advice, guidance and constructive feedback to candidates during and after completion of the qualification.
  • Make sure that assessment strategies used are inclusive (regardless of gender, age or origin) and be fair, reliable and consistent in assessment decisions
  • Comply with the internal quality assurance procedures

  • Ensure all candidates comply with the Health and safety standards
  • Be aware of Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding including the Prevent Duty.
  • Support the apprenticeship programs in all aspects of training requirements
  • Comply with all 3t policies and procedures

The Person

Essential Criteria

  • Practical utilities sector experience.
  • Experience within gas, water OR highways operations.
  • NRSWA ticket.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria

  • PTLLS or teaching qualification.
  • Assessor qualification.
  • Water qualifications.
  • Additional utility certifications.
  • Previous training delivery experience.
