Up to £50,000 a year - Permanent, Full-time

BTS Group is dedicated to providing vital support to utility companies across the UK, specialising in vegetation management services for electricity distributor network operators (DNO). We are also a leading provider of vegetation management, tree surgery, and utility arboriculture, serving clients from utility, commercial, and private sectors.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Utility Arborist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing trees and vegetation around utility infrastructure, ensuring safety, compliance, and aesthetic standards. Your expertise will help support the reliable delivery of electricity.

BTS is looking for utility arborists in the Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and Hereford & Ludlow areas.

Having secured an eight-year contract with National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) covering the whole region, BTS Group is expanding – and that means we’re hiring.

Duties

  • Perform tree pruning and removal activities in accordance with safety standards and industry best practices
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery to carry out vegetation management tasks effectively
  • Follow safety protocols during all operations to ensure personal safety and that of team members

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Utility arb competencies: UA301, UA302, UA303, UA304, UA305
  • Chainsaw competencies: 201 (CS30), 202 (CS31), 203 (CS38), 204 (CS39)
  • Chipper competency
  • First Aid Certification
  • Commitment to personal development, training, and learning new skills to carry out all required duties
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
