$80,184.00 – $100,235.20 per annum
Come work with us!
Clean water and reliable utility systems are the foundation of our entire community. When our residents turn on their taps or rely on drainage during a heavy storm, our Utility Services team makes sure everything works behind the scenes without a hitch.
We are looking for a permanent, full-time Utility Services Operator II to join our crew. This is a hands-on, critical field role for a certified operator who knows the trade, takes pride in keeping vital infrastructure running smoothly, and wants long-term stability with a solid team. If you enjoy solving practical problems in the field and working with people who take pride in what they do, we want you on our team.
What is the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Lead of Utility Services, the Utility Services Operator II handles the day-to-day operations and preventative maintenance across our water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater networks.
In this role, you will be out in the field doing real, technical work—from servicing pumps and valves to conducting water testing and troubleshooting system mains. You’ll also step up periodically to mentor junior operators, coordinate seasonal staff, and help lead daily site work when the Lead is away. It is a high-trust position where your skills directly protect public health and the environment every day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
