Based in the South West of the United Kingdom, the company provides detailed and accurate survey data to support construction, infrastructure, and asset management projects. Team members work on a variety of projects and sites, offering opportunities to develop specialist skills in the utility surveying field.
Role Description
The Utility Surveyor is a full-time, hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, with a mix of on-site work and some work from home for reporting and data processing tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Carrying out utility mapping and drainage surveys
- Operating surveying instruments and laser scanning equipment
- Collecting accurate spatial data in line with project specifications
- Interpreting service records, marking and recording underground utilities
- Preparing clear survey drawings and reports

The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other surveyors to ensure safe working practices, compliance with relevant standards, and timely delivery of survey outputs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in utility mapping, drainage surveys, or related surveying disciplines, with the ability to collect and interpret accurate site data.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total stations, GPR, laser scanners) and associated software for data capture and processing.
- Strong skills in drafting survey plans and reports, including the use of CAD or mapping software to present findings clearly and accurately.
- Solid understanding of health and safety practices, risk assessments, and safe working methods on construction and infrastructure sites.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, colleagues, and site personnel.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, including planning site visits, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.
- Relevant qualification in surveying, civil engineering, geomatics, or a related field; professional certifications or membership of a surveying body are beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the South West and wider UK as required.
