Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To create best in class user experiences that are aligned to customer needs and drive optimal commercial and customer outcomes. Creating products and journeys that meet customers informational, functional and emotional needs.
Accountabilities

Conceptualisation, Design and Implementation:
- Develop user-centric digital banking products and experiences.
- Ensure alignment with customer needs, industry best practices, and business objectives.
- Monitor impact of design post-launch through relevant CX metrics.

Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, business analysts.
- Translate business requirements into compelling user experiences.
- Communicate design rationale and advocate for user-centred design principles.
- Champion Design Principles within the organisation.

Development:
- Create interactive prototypes and wireframes to visualise design concepts.
- Iterate designs based on feedback, incorporating changing technical and business requirements and user feedback.

Evaluation:
- Assess technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks associated with new product development and launch.
- Secure governance oversight and provide design assurance.

User Research:
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights on user behaviour, preferences, and pain points.
- Use findings to inform design decisions and enhance user experience.

Trends and Innovation:
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and design tools within the fintech and banking industry.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in product design processes, tools, and methodologies.

Join Us as a UX Copywriter
Helping create clear, user-focused content that enables customers and colleagues to navigate digital experiences with ease. This role sits within a collaborative design environment, working closely with Product, Design, Research, and Business teams to deliver content that meets user needs while supporting business goals.
Responsibilities
As a UX Copywriter, you will:
- Shape content across digital journeys, ensuring every interaction is clear, consistent, and accessible.
- Turn detailed information into straightforward language, helping users complete tasks efficiently while maintaining Barclays' standards for quality, compliance, and customer experience.
- Influence how people experience our products and services at scale, contributing to digital experiences that make banking easier to use, more intuitive, and accessible for a wide range of customers and colleagues.
Essential Skills
- Experience creating user-focused content and adapting tone and style for different audiences and digital channels.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Careful attention to detail, supported by proofreading, editing, and content quality assurance skills.
Highly Valued Skills
- Experience working within a regulated or financial services environment, with an understanding of associated risks and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with structured copy processes, content governance, and documentation standards.
- Knowledge of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and digital accessibility requirements, with the ability to apply inclusive content design practices.

Location
This role will be based in Manchester.
