About The Role
The UX Designer role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a significant platform rebuild project within a well-established UK-based medical publishing business. This position involves working on a suite of specialist digital products aimed at enhancing how clinical professionals access and engage with educational content. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the user experience of these platforms, ensuring they are intuitive, efficient, and aligned with user needs. The role is initially a 12-week contract, requiring approximately three days per week, with the possibility of extension or further engagement based on project scope and performance. This is a remote-first position, with occasional travel to London as needed, offering flexibility and the chance to influence a high-impact digital transformation from an early stage.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in UX design, including wireframing and prototyping, with proficiency in Figma for developer handover
- Proven ability to interpret broad or conflicting requirements and distill them into a clear, prioritized product roadmap supported by user research
- Experience working on content-heavy, media-rich, or education-focused digital platforms, with a strong mobile-first and responsive design approach
- Familiarity with working alongside in-house engineering teams to deliver seamless user experiences
- Knowledge of healthcare, medical, or professional B2B audiences is highly desirable
- Experience with video or streaming platform UX, as well as AI-assisted or conversational search functionalities, is advantageous
Responsibilities
- The UX Designer will be responsible for translating detailed internal requirements into a structured, evidence-based digital experience.
- Key responsibilities include planning user flows and site maps, conducting user research, synthesizing findings, and producing wireframes and prototypes that meet developer standards in Figma.
- The role requires close collaboration with the in-house CTO, development team, and web design resources to ensure the platform rebuild aligns with user needs and business goals.
- The UX Designer will prioritize features for initial launch, identify features for subsequent phases, and recommend deprioritization where appropriate.
- Additionally, the candidate will contribute to defining the overall user experience strategy, ensuring accessibility, usability, and consistency across all digital touchpoints.
- The role also involves reviewing existing briefs, providing independent judgment, and making evidence-driven product decisions to support the platform’s successful delivery.
