About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced UX Designer (Consultant) to join our growing Experience Design team at Kainos. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering intuitive, user-centric service experiences that meet both user needs and business objectives. As a key member of the team, you will advocate for design thinking and service design principles, ensuring that digital solutions are accessible, effective, and engaging. You will also have the opportunity to lead, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

This position offers a unique chance to work on high-impact projects that serve millions of users, contributing to the creation of digital services that make a positive difference. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in user experience design, with demonstrated experience in leading design initiatives and managing teams. Essential qualifications include the ability to articulate and implement design strategies, proficiency in creating journey maps, prototypes, and wireframes, and a solid understanding of accessibility standards. Experience with usability testing, user research, and information architecture is also required. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to senior stakeholders and facilitate collaborative workshops.

Desirable qualifications include experience working within Agile methodologies, a background in digital agency environments, and active involvement in professional communities or industry events. A passion for mentoring and developing talent is highly valued, alongside a proactive approach to staying current with industry trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

As a UX Designer at Kainos, your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and communicating design strategies that align with business objectives and user needs
  • Leading the creation of user journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to support user testing and development
  • Conducting usability testing and integrating research findings into design improvements
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop information architecture based on thorough analysis and research, ensuring accessibility and adherence to standards across all projects
  • Guiding and mentoring junior designers and stakeholders in user-centered design practices
  • Advocating for inclusive design principles, promoting best practices, and representing UX design within the organization to foster a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Managing stakeholder expectations, facilitating workshops, and contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes
  • Balancing user needs with technical feasibility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital services that are both functional and delightful
