About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced UX Designer to join our dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is primarily remote within the UK, with occasional travel to London or Manchester as required. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping seamless, engaging user experiences for complex digital products and services within a government or enterprise environment. With a focus on human-centered design, you will leverage your expertise to understand user needs, translate insights into innovative design solutions, and ensure the delivery of intuitive interfaces that meet diverse user requirements. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that enhance public services and enterprise systems, working within an Agile framework to deliver high-quality user experiences.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience as a UX Designer, particularly within complex digital transformation projects, government agencies, or large enterprise environments. A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and UX best practices is essential. Candidates should have proven expertise in conducting user research, interpreting insights, and translating findings into actionable design strategies. Knowledge of human factors and interaction design principles, including Hick's Law and Fitt's Law, is required. Experience creating information architecture, user journeys, wireframes, and interaction prototypes is vital. Additionally, familiarity with accessibility standards, content organization, and navigation design is necessary. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams are also essential. Candidates must have experience working within Agile delivery environments and demonstrate a comprehensive approach to designing end-to-end user experiences for complex systems.

Responsibilities
- Understanding user needs and context through comprehensive research insights to inform design decisions.
- Defining clear UX goals and guiding principles based on user research findings and business objectives.
- Applying human factors knowledge, including Hick's Law and Fitt's Law, to optimize user interactions and improve usability.
- Designing the overall user experience architecture, encompassing functions, information flow, and interaction points.
- Developing intuitive navigation pathways and content organization strategies to facilitate seamless user journeys.
- Considering diverse user contexts such as cultural differences, environmental factors, and activity-specific needs to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
- Integrating technological, operational, and functional constraints into human-centered design opportunities to balance user needs with business requirements.
- Ensuring relational aspects are maintained across all touchpoints, creating cohesive and consistent user experiences.
- Collaborating with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to iterate and refine designs based on feedback and testing.
- Creating wireframes, prototypes, and detailed interaction designs to communicate concepts effectively.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies, sprints, and collaborative sessions to ensure timely delivery of high-quality UX solutions.
- Monitoring and analyzing user feedback and analytics to continuously improve the user experience.

Joining Experis as a UX Designer offers a competitive day rate of 445 inside IR35 for the duration of the 6-month contract.
