About The Role
We are seeking an experienced UX Designer (Consultant) to join our dynamic Experience Design team at Kainos. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering intuitive, user-centered service experiences that align with business objectives and user needs. Your expertise will help shape digital solutions that are accessible, engaging, and effective. As a senior member of the team, you will also play a key role in mentoring junior designers, advocating for best practices in user-centered design, and collaborating closely with stakeholders across projects. Your work will directly impact millions of users by ensuring that digital services are not only functional but also delightful to use.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in defining and implementing design strategies, with the ability to communicate benefits effectively to senior stakeholders
- Strong skills in ideation techniques suitable for various business contexts and project requirements
- Proficiency in creating journey maps to inform recommendations and decision-making
- Experience in producing prototypes tailored for user testing and development needs
- Ability to conduct usability testing and incorporate research insights into design strategies
- Competence in creating and refining information architecture based on research and analysis
- Advocacy for accessibility standards and best practices across projects
- Experience guiding teams and stakeholders through user-centered design processes throughout project lifecycles
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior team members and representing UX design within the organization
- Passion for developing people and fostering a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of user-centric digital services that meet business and user needs
- Define and communicate design strategies, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations
- Facilitate ideation sessions and workshops to generate innovative solutions
- Create detailed journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to support development and testing
- Conduct usability testing sessions, analyze feedback, and iterate designs accordingly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and business analysts to deliver seamless user experiences
- Promote accessibility and inclusive design standards across all projects
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of the experience design community within Kainos
- Represent UX best practices in client meetings, presentations, and internal reviews
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve design quality
