Job Opportunity: UX Designer - Infrastructure

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a UX Designer - Infrastructure based in United Kingdom.

This role offers the opportunity to design intuitive experiences for complex open-source infrastructure products used by organizations worldwide.

You will work at the intersection of user experience, technology, and engineering to simplify advanced cloud and data center solutions. The position combines UX strategy, research, design systems, and close collaboration with technical teams. You will help shape tools that enable organizations to build, manage, and scale modern infrastructure environments.

Working in a globally distributed team, you will contribute to products that influence the future of enterprise technology and open-source innovation. This opportunity is ideal for a technically curious designer who enjoys solving complex problems and creating impactful user experiences.

Accountabilities

The UX Designer will be responsible for creating user-centered experiences for infrastructure products while collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to improve usability, consistency, and overall product quality.

  • Design intuitive workflows and interfaces for complex infrastructure tools used to build and manage cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product direction and improve user experiences.
  • Apply UX research methods, usability principles, and design heuristics to solve complex product challenges.
  • Translate technical complexity into clear, efficient, and accessible user experiences.
  • Contribute to the evolution and adoption of design systems that improve consistency across products.
  • Understand broader product ecosystems, technical constraints, and user needs to make informed design decisions.
  • Support cross-functional design initiatives and contribute to shared design practices across teams.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and help improve design maturity throughout the organization.
  • Conduct user research, gather insights, and incorporate feedback into product improvements.
  • Communicate design concepts clearly to engineers, designers, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about emerging UX trends, research methods, and innovative design approaches.
  • Participate in international team gatherings and collaborative sessions to align on strategy and execution.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a technically minded UX professional with strong communication skills, a passion for technology, and experience designing solutions for complex products.

  • Strong knowledge and passion for user experience, product design, and technology.
  • Experience designing digital products, especially complex platforms, developer tools, enterprise applications, or technical products.
  • Ability to conduct user research and apply insights to improve product decisions.
  • Strong understanding of UX methodologies, design principles, and usability best practices.
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems or reusable design patterns.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, and leadership teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain and defend design decisions clearly.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Interest in working with real technology, infrastructure, and technically complex environments.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail and execution quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in User Experience, Design, STEM, or a related field is preferred, though alternative career paths are considered.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally several times per year for company events.
