About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled UX Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis, working remotely within the UK. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of UK residency and possess a strong background in designing engaging, user-centered digital experiences within complex environments such as government or enterprise sectors. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create seamless, intuitive interfaces that enhance user satisfaction and operational efficiency. Occasional travel to London or Manchester may be required to facilitate stakeholder engagement and project workshops.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a UX Designer within complex digital transformation projects, government, or enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in user-centered design principles and best practices for UX.
- Strong experience conducting user research, analyzing insights, and translating findings into actionable design strategies.
- Solid understanding of human factors and interaction design principles, including Hick's Law and Fitt's Law.
- Proficiency in creating information architecture, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs.
- Knowledge of navigation design, content organization, and accessibility standards.
- Ability to consider diverse user needs, cultural contexts, and environmental factors in design solutions.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on balancing user needs with technical and operational constraints.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive user research to understand needs, behaviors, and contextual factors influencing user interactions.
- Define UX goals, principles, and design strategies based on research insights and project requirements.
- Apply human factors knowledge to optimize interaction design, ensuring intuitive and efficient user experiences.
- Design and develop the overall user experience architecture, including functions, information flow, and interaction models.
- Create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and user journey maps to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Develop navigation pathways and content organization strategies that facilitate easy access and usability.
- Consider variations in user context, such as cultural differences, environmental factors, and accessibility needs, to create inclusive designs.
- Collaborate with technical teams to incorporate operational, functional, and technological constraints into design solutions.
- Ensure consistency and relational integrity across all touchpoints of the user experience, maintaining a cohesive design language.
- Engage with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to gather feedback, iterate designs, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
