About The Role
We are seeking a skilled UX Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. The role is primarily remote within the UK, with occasional travel to London or Manchester required for stakeholder meetings and collaborative workshops. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience working within complex digital transformation projects, particularly in government or enterprise environments. The UX Designer will be instrumental in shaping seamless, engaging user experiences by designing intuitive structures and information flows for our digital products and services. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that serve a broad user base, ensuring that user needs and business objectives are harmoniously aligned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a UX Designer within complex digital environments, including government or enterprise sectors.
- Proven expertise in user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Strong experience conducting user research, usability testing, and interpreting insights to inform design solutions.
- Solid understanding of human factors and interaction design principles, including Hick's Law and Fitt's Law.
- Proficiency in creating wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, and information architecture.
- Experience designing navigation systems and content organization strategies for diverse audiences.
- Ability to consider cultural, environmental, and contextual variations in user behavior and accessibility needs.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to cross-disciplinary teamwork.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and consistency across user experiences.

Responsibilities
- Understanding user needs and behaviors through comprehensive research and insights gathering.
- Defining clear UX goals and principles based on research findings to guide design efforts.
- Applying human factors knowledge to optimize interactions, ensuring intuitive and accessible user experiences.
- Designing the overall user experience architecture, including functions, information flow, and interaction points.
- Developing effective navigation pathways and content organization strategies that enhance usability.
- Considering variations in user context, such as cultural differences, environmental factors, and activity types, to create inclusive designs.
- Integrating technological, operational, and functional constraints into user-centered design opportunities.
- Ensuring relational and consistency aspects are maintained throughout the entire user journey.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to deliver cohesive user experiences.
- Participating in Agile sprints, providing UX input throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Creating and iterating prototypes, wireframes, and detailed interaction designs for review and testing.
- Documenting design decisions and ensuring accessibility standards are met across all deliverables.
