UX Engineer / Front-End Engineer – AI & Science Research
Location: King’s Cross, London
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £42.31 per hour PAYE
Hybrid: On-site Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; remote Monday and Friday
Hours: 40 hours per week
We’re recruiting an experienced UX Engineer / Front-End Engineer to join the Science team within a world-leading AI research organisation.
The team builds cutting-edge browser-based products that bring early-stage scientific and healthcare research into real-world use. You’ll work closely with designers, engineers and researchers, taking highly novel ideas from initial concept through development, testing, feedback and first public release.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in 0-to-1 product development, enjoys working with evolving requirements and genuinely cares about building high-quality user experiences.
Key requirements
- 4+ years of front-end / UX engineering experience
- Strong commercial Angular experience
- Recent experience with Angular 17–20
- Strong TypeScript and RxJS
- Production-quality browser/web application development
- Testing with Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Playwright or Cypress
- Reusable components and design-system experience
- Strong accessibility and responsive web-development knowledge
- Experience working closely with UX/product designers
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor or Gemini
