ARC Regulatory
ARC Regulatory combines specialist IVD/CDx clinical research expertise with laboratory services and software solutions to support Sponsors across the clinical trial lifecycle and accelerate global precision medicine studies.
Through its Dx CRO and Sponsor Delegation services, ARC supports the planning, delivery and oversight of global CDx clinical trials, acting as an extension of the Sponsor team and providing clear ownership and accountability across delegated activities.
ARC Laboratories, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, provides in-house assay and clinical trial sample testing capabilities across IHC, qPCR, ELISA and NGS-based testing. The laboratory is UKAS ISO 15189 and CAP accredited, providing high-quality biomarker testing for precision medicine clinical trials.
ARC's Health Institution status, under the IVDR Article 5(5), provides a practical route for early-phase clinical trial sample testing in the EU and UK, helping reduce regulatory burden and enable faster sample testing for eligible studies.
ARC also combines its regulatory expertise with technology through ARC360® powered by AURA AI. ARC360® is a regulatory intelligence and submission collaboration platform scoped specifically for CDx clinical trials, bringing national regulatory requirements, submission workflows, document generation and project reporting into one place. AURA AI capabilities combine the speed of AI with human expertise to support structured, traceable and auditable regulatory outputs.
By connecting clinical research, laboratory and technology expertise, ARC helps Sponsors reduce complexity, manage risk and maintain control across their global precision medicine clinical trials.
Job Purpose
To play a leading role in the design, development and continuous improvement of ARC's digital platforms, ensuring customers benefit from intuitive, accessible and high-performing user experiences. The postholder will combine UX/UI expertise with front-end engineering capability, translating customer needs and business requirements into scalable digital solutions.

As ARC's subject matter expert for user experience, accessibility, design systems and front-end standards, the UX/UI Designer & Front-End Developer will lead the development and governance of the Design System, ensuring consistency, usability and scalability across current and future products. Working closely with Product, Engineering and AI teams, the role will help shape the future evolution of ARC’s Digital Solutions and wider technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research activities through interviews, workshops, surveys, usability testing and customer-feedback analysis.
- Create user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes and polished interface designs.
- Own and evolve the Design System, establishing consistent, accessible and scalable UI standards.
- Translate complex customer and business needs into intuitive product experiences that deliver measurable value.
- Build responsive, maintainable and production-ready front-end solutions using modern web technologies.
- Develop reusable UI components and support the modernisation of ARC Digital Product Portfolio and future digital platforms.
- Collaborate throughout the software development lifecycle with Product Managers, Software Engineers, AI Engineers and Test Engineers.
- Design clear experiences for AI-enabled workflows, intelligent automation and emerging product capabilities.
- Champion design thinking, usability, accessibility and continuous improvement across ARC.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a creative, hands-on designer and developer who can move comfortably between customer discovery, interface design and front-end delivery.
Essential Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Digital Design, User Experience, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years’ experience in UX/UI design, product design, front-end development or a comparable role.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both UX/UI design and front-end engineering capability.
- Commercial experience designing and developing modern web applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, wireframing, prototyping and interface design, plus experience with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools.
- Experience creating and maintaining design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Strong HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery skills, with experience in a modern framework such as Vue.js.
- Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs and backend services, with an understanding of .NET architecture and API-driven applications.
- Practical knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and usability best practice.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams and collaborating with Product Managers across the product lifecycle.
It Would Be an Advantage If You Also Have
- A postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, UX Design or a related discipline.
- Experience with Azure-hosted applications, Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Experience in medical devices, healthcare, life sciences or another regulated industry.
- Experience designing AI-enabled products and digital workflows.
- Experience migrating legacy systems to modern front-end architectures.
- Experience facilitating customer workshops, product discovery and usability sessions.
