About The Company

Aimee Willow Connex is a dynamic and rapidly expanding UK-based business finance company headquartered in Manchester. The company specializes in providing access to funding solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various markets. With a strong focus on innovation, Aimee Willow Connex is committed to transforming the traditional landscape of business finance through cutting-edge technology and user-centric design. The organization is dedicated to building a comprehensive digital platform that seamlessly integrates automation, artificial intelligence, open banking, and a lending marketplace to deliver an unparalleled experience for business owners and financial professionals alike. Their forward-thinking approach and investment in technology position them as a leader in the fintech industry, striving to simplify and enhance the way businesses find, apply for, and manage their financial solutions.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) to join our innovative team on a 3-6 month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, combining office-based, remote, and flexible working arrangements in Manchester. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the user experience of our flagship platform, which aims to revolutionize business finance management. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, including the CEO and CTO, as well as our in-house development team, to design intuitive, effective, and engaging digital experiences across both customer-facing and internal workflows. This position requires a strategic thinker who can challenge existing processes, propose innovative solutions, and deliver high-quality design work that aligns with our business objectives and user needs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing digital products, particularly SaaS platforms or fintech applications. A compelling portfolio demonstrating both UX problem-solving and high-caliber UI design is essential. Candidates should possess experience in creating complex workflows and simplifying them for end-users, along with proficiency in developing and maintaining design systems within Figma. A solid understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles is required, as well as experience working closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation. The ability to rapidly wireframe and prototype ideas is crucial for iterative testing and validation. Strong commercial awareness is necessary to understand how design impacts conversion, engagement, and operational efficiency. Confidence in challenging existing assumptions and proposing innovative design solutions is highly valued. While fintech experience—particularly within lending, banking, payments, or financial marketplaces—is advantageous, it is not mandatory. What matters most is your ability to think critically, craft exceptional user experiences, and deliver work of the highest quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
