HR Advisor

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Hybrid – 3–4 days onsite)

Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

Rate: £23.81 per hour PAYE or £31.93 via umbrella (inside IR35)

We are recruiting for two HR Advisors to join a busy People Services team supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation. Working within a fast-paced, unionised environment, you'll provide professional HR advice and support to managers and employees across a range of people matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Manage HR queries and employee relations cases.
  • Support the delivery of HR policies, procedures and people processes.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Maintain HR data and support reporting using HR systems.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners and the wider HR team to deliver effective people solutions.

About You

  • Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor role.
  • Good knowledge of HR policies, procedures and UK employment law.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or unionised environment is desirable.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
