Senior Manager, Social & Creator Partnerships

V&A, South Kensington

Hybrid, three days a week on site
Salary: c£50k

What would you do with 2.8 million objects and 5,000 years of creativity?

Fashion. Design. Photography. Performance. Architecture. Music. Ceramics. Gaming.

The V&A has never been short of things to talk about, and the opportunity here is to turn all of it into one of the most distinctive social presences in culture.

Congregation is supporting the V&A to appoint a Senior Manager, Social & Creator Partnerships, leading how the museum shows up across social and how it builds relationships with audiences, communities, and creators.

This isn't really a job about running social channels.

We're looking for someone who understands brands, audiences, culture, and social well enough to bring all four together: someone who can look at a film, an exhibition, an object, or a passing cultural moment and see what would make it work on Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok, who knows the difference between cutting content down for social and making something genuinely social-first, and who builds real relationships with creators rather than treating influencer work as a way of buying reach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Someone who knows when a brand should join a conversation, and when it definitely shouldn't.

And someone who turns audience insight into a point of view rather than another deck of numbers:

  • Here's what's happening.
  • Here's why it matters.
  • Here's what I think we should do.

You'll lead the Social & Creator Partnerships function and manage a team of Social Media & Community Managers, working alongside creative and digital colleagues who are already producing a significant volume of original content. Your job isn't to make all of it yourself. It's to get everything we can from what exists, spot the opportunities nobody else has noticed, and build the team and ways of working that make good social happen week in, week out.

You'll help us work out what comes next, too.

  • How should the V&A use TikTok?
  • How do Instagram and YouTube evolve from here?
  • Which creators could introduce us to audiences who'd otherwise never come across us?

And underneath all of that, the question we're most interested in: how do we stay unmistakably the V&A while behaving quite differently in different places, so that somebody discovering an extraordinary object on their phone ends up in a longer relationship with the museum?

You don't need to have worked in a museum. You might be at a consumer brand, an entertainment company, a publisher, a music business, a membership organisation, or a social-first agency. What matters is that you've led social at meaningful scale, you understand how good brands behave, you know your way around creators and communities, and you can look after a team through the particular pressures that come with these roles.

We're interested in people who are curious and culturally engaged, organised and collaborative, who ask questions and spot things, and who can make good decisions without turning each one into a drama. Being enjoyable to work with counts for a lot here.

If you've spent your career making brands interesting on social, there aren't many with 5,000 years of material to work from.
