About This Role
Are you an experienced Facilities Site Operative, Vehicle Valeter or someone with practical experience looking for a hands-on role within a busy asset rental business? As a Valet & Yard Person at Dawsongroup, you will take ownership of the wash facility at our Avonmouth site, ensuring fleet assets are cleaned, prepared and presented to the required standard while supporting wider site activities when needed.
- Operate the jet wash booking system, ensuring vehicles are prepared in the agreed order and within required timescales.
- Complete external washing, cab valeting, internal cleaning and final presentation checks across fleet assets.
- Carry out basic visual condition checks and report any damage, defects or issues promptly.
- Complete daily pre-use checks and keep jet wash and valeting equipment clean, maintained and serviceable.
- Keep wash bays, the surrounding yard and working areas clean, organised and safe.
About You
You will take pride in your work, pay attention to detail and enjoy seeing a job completed to a high standard. Previous experience in vehicle washing, valeting, yard operations or a commercial vehicle environment would be useful, but we are also interested in people with practical skills, a positive attitude and the willingness to learn.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
