This is a hands-on role that keeps vehicles looking their best and supports a smooth customer experience. As a Valeter at Paul Rigby Ltd you will play a practical and visible part in maintaining presentation standards and preparing vehicles for customers and dealerships.
Purpose of the role
The primary purpose of this role is to clean, detail and prepare vehicles to a high standard so they are ready for sale, collection or display. You will help maintain workshop standards, support vehicle movement and contribute to a professional customer-facing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform thorough exterior and interior cleaning, including washing, waxing, polishing and vacuuming vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles for condition issues and report any damage or faults to supervisors.
- Operate cleaning equipment and maintain cleaning materials and supplies.
- Move vehicles safely around the site as required, following site procedures.
- Keep valeting and storage areas clean, organised and compliant with health and safety practices.
- Support colleagues in the workshop and customer reception when necessary.

Essential Skills And Experience
- Previous experience in vehicle valeting, detailing or a related automotive cleaning role, or demonstrable aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail and pride in producing consistently high presentation standards.
- Good practical skills with cleaning tools and products; ability to follow product instructions and safe handling procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and to handle physical tasks safely.
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Familiarity with valeting products and paint protection options.
- Previous experience working in a dealership, fleet or retail automotive environment.
- Full UK driving licence and confidence moving vehicles on site.

Qualifications
- No specific academic qualifications are required for entry, but relevant vocational training or certificates in vehicle valeting or detailing are beneficial.
- Basic health and safety awareness and the ability to follow safe systems of work are expected.
