Valuation Director, Manchester, MRICS
Right, this is a remarkable opportunity for the right person, trust me.
One of the UK's brightest and fast-growing property consultancies that's grown its Manchester office from one person to three in about 12 months (with two more starting before Christmas) needs a senior valuer at either Director or strong AD level to come in and properly co-run it. Not manage it. Run it. You will be working alongside another Senior figure and where this opportunity differs is the genuine trust not only to help lead people, but run the office and business unit.
THE ROLE
MRICS required. You'll need to be genuinely comfortable across both commercial and residential valuation. One week it's HMOs, the next it's Grade A offices in the city centre. If you've spent your career wanting to specialise in one thing, this probably isn't for you albeit in time it could be. It's a clean slate with opportunity to grow your own unit. If variety keeps you interested, it might be exactly what you're after.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The office sits on major lender panels, so RICS Red Book and loan security valuation work is core to the role. You'll be reviewing reports, mentoring junior surveyors, and taking them out on inspections, not just producing your own workload so if mentoring and leadership is your thing, this is great.
There's also agency, landlord and tenant, and property management creeping in as the office grows, so there's real scope to get stuck into whatever interests you beyond valuation. So if you're more of a general practice candidate, this could be perfect.
THE PATCH
Manchester based, covering the Peak District and Glossop, south to Crewe and North Wales, across to Warrington and Liverpool, up to Blackpool, with the odd trip further out. Fair bit of driving involved, worth knowing that upfront.

- General Practice experience is welcome also!
- RICS Red Book / loan security experience, ideally panel work
- Comfortable reviewing reports and mentoring junior surveyors
- Manchester or Northwest contacts are a bonus, not a requirement
