Job Opportunity: Registered Valuer

A leading public sector property services organisation is seeking an experienced Registered Valuer to join its Professional Services Team on a fixed-term contract until October 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor with strong valuation experience to play a key role in the management, valuation, development and disposal of a diverse operational and non-operational property portfolio.

Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, public sector partners and professional advisers, you will provide high-quality property advice, support strategic asset management objectives and help maximise value from a significant property estate.

Key Responsibilities

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Undertake valuations of operational and non-operational property assets in accordance with RICS Valuation – Professional Standards (Red Book), IFRS and CIPFA requirements.
  • Prepare robust and compliant valuation reports and professional property advice.
  • Support asset management strategies, development opportunities and property disposal programmes.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise value from property assets and contribute to capital receipt targets.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Review and interpret complex property information, including development appraisals, costing reports, site investigations and legal agreements.
  • Lead negotiations with developers, purchasers and other stakeholders to secure commercially beneficial outcomes.
  • Work closely with legal representatives and professional advisers to deliver successful property transactions.
  • Maintain accurate property records and contribute to effective asset management processes.
  • Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed timescales.

About You

You will be an experienced property professional with:

  • A degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, General Practice Surveying or an equivalent surveying discipline.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • RICS Registered Valuer status (or eligibility to achieve Registered Valuer status without further assessment).
  • Strong experience in property valuation and report preparation.
  • Detailed knowledge of the RICS Valuation – Professional Standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage a varied workload and deliver under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commercially focused approach.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and delivering property solutions.

  • Valuation of complex operational and investment property assets.

Salary: £45,645 – £53,080 per annum + 17.5% Pension Contribution
