The Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Valuations Team
The Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Valuations team is a fast-growing, dynamic sector team within the PwC Deals offering. Our clients include large multinational corporates, innovative early-stage startups, entrepreneurs, investors including private equity, venture capital, and government. The team sits within the wider Valuations business (of around 170 people).
We are a Valuation practice with a strong focus on industry specialisms, with our valuations teams aligned with our other industry Deals disciplines. In doing so, we provide our clients with commercial, pragmatic valuation analysis that draws on industry insight and is grounded in technical excellence. This positions Valuations at the heart of our Deals offering.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced commercially-minded Director with deep Healthcare, Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industry experience and a passion for the sector. Do you want to take a lead role in a fast-growing Healthcare and Pharmaceutical valuation business? This is a great opportunity to work with a large and diverse client base and a dynamic team.
You will play a key role in driving the growth and development of the business through helping to win work, engage confidently with clients, and build strong client relationships.
The role has a significant business development component, and you will be a visible presence in the UK Healthcare, Pharma, and Life Sciences market. You will lead project teams and coach staff to deliver a wide range of valuations for all Health, Pharma, and life sciences clients.
This role offers the chance to build and shape a high-value, strategic, and growing area of the business. Exposure to significant, high-profile clients and situations. A supportive and collaborative team with strong leadership sponsorship.

What your days will look like:
- Take an active role in winning work and growing the business including leading major client proposals and presentations
- Leading in the delivery of large, complex valuation assignments, including client management, preparing detailed valuation analysis, and presentation of findings, providing sector insights, and reviewing technical valuation aspects
- Mentoring, developing, coaching, and managing project teams, motivating junior staff, and fostering a high-performance and quality-driven culture.
- Developing a network internally and externally with health, pharma, and life sciences clients and other stakeholders, leveraging relationships to generate business. Our clients span the full spectrum of industry participants, including healthcare services, pharmaceutical companies both large and small, medical technology players, biotechnology companies, and industry investors
- Taking a leading role in developing proposals and in client presentations
- Maintaining a high level of technical valuation skills and playing a lead role in knowledge sharing with the health & pharma team and wider PwC network.
- Attending regular events and networking sessions (often morning or evening) to build and maintain a strong personal and team market profile.
- Contribute to the evolution of our valuation methodology, use of technology, and adoption of AI tools to drive efficiency, quality, and new services.

This role is for you if:
You have:
- Deep healthcare, pharmaceutical, and/or life sciences market knowledge and experience
- Strong technical valuation skills and experience, including valuing businesses, shares, and assets
- Must possess an ACA or CFA qualification (or international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country
- Passionate about the industry and client service
- Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to succeed
- Strong communicator both oral and written
- Consultative and collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in teams, on occasion, to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with people at all levels in a confident manner
- Proven ability to sell services and develop new business with clients
- Commercial awareness
