With over 10,000 stocked lines and daily deliveries, the company supports merchants and installers in accessing the products they need, when they need them. The team is committed to reliable distribution, including next-day nationwide delivery and strong stock availability. FW Hipkin positions itself as a partner in the supply chain, focused on keeping projects moving and supporting business growth.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Van Driver role based in Dagenham. The Van Driver will be responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading heating, plumbing, and building products to trade customers and merchants across designated routes. Daily tasks include:

The role involves maintaining clear communication with the warehouse and office teams, handling goods with care, and representing FW Hipkin professionally at customer sites. We are FORS accredited at Bronze Level and drivers will need to complete mandatory FORS training.
Salary and Benefits
- Drivers are salaried at £27,000 per year.
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 04:30 am start.
- Bank holidays are paid days off.
- 20 days annual leave per year, with additional holiday between Christmas and New Year.
- After 3 months, you will qualify for the Company Pension Scheme.
- Uniform is supplied.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean or low-point record, and experience driving vans or light commercial vehicles.
- Strong road safety awareness, good knowledge of local and regional routes, and ability to follow delivery schedules.
- Basic understanding of loading, securing, and handling goods safely, including manual handling of boxed or bulky items.
- Reliable time management skills, attention to detail when checking delivery notes, and accuracy in completing delivery records.
- Good communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with merchants, contractors, and site personnel.
- Ability to work on-site in Dagenham, collaborate with warehouse staff, and adapt to changing delivery priorities.
- Previous experience in distribution, trade supplies, or a logistics/warehouse environment is beneficial.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills, and comfort using handheld devices or delivery tracking systems.
