About The Role

A Van Driver position is available in Bicester through Pertemps Banbury, offering £13.50 per hour on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. Working Monday to Saturday with a rolling weekday off and every Sunday free, shifts commence between 4:00am and 5:00am. You will deliver chilled, frozen, and ambient food supplies to hospitality venues across Bristol, Wales, Bath, and Oxford, handling roughly five to eight drops per shift. Reliable timekeeping, a valid driving licence, and careful handling of goods are essential. This role suits someone seeking steady, early-morning work with potential for permanent placement.

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Van Driver to join a food distribution operation based in Bicester, with the opportunity to move from temporary to permanent employment.

Drivers can expect to complete approximately 5–8 deliveries per shift, depending on the route and daily requirements.

Your Duties Will Include

  • Loading your vehicle at the start of each shift.
  • Completing scheduled deliveries to pubs, restaurants, and hotels.
  • Handing over goods at delivery points.
  • Providing excellent customer service at each delivery.
  • Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time.
  • Completing the necessary delivery paperwork and checks.
  • Taking responsibility for the care and cleanliness of your vehicle.

The majority of the produce is transported on trays, and drivers will be provided with a sack truck to assist with deliveries.

Working Hours

The role operates Monday to Saturday, with a rolling day off each week.

Start times are generally between 4:00am and 5:00am, with most drivers finishing between 11:00am and 2:00pm, depending on the route and number of deliveries. Sundays are always free, giving you a guaranteed day off every week.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full UK driving licence, with no more than 6 points for minor offences.
  • Previous van driving or multi-drop delivery experience.
  • Good geographical knowledge and the ability to follow delivery routes.
  • A good level of physical fitness, as the role involves loading and handing over goods.
  • A reliable and professional approach to work.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
  • Flexibility around early morning starts and the Monday–Saturday working pattern.
