Role Description

The Van Driver role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Derby Area. The Van Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to collect, transport, and deliver goods for customers in the airfreight and building industries. Daily tasks include:

The role involves:

  • Communicating with dispatch and customers
  • Following all traffic and safety regulations
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle

The Van Driver is expected to:

  • Manage time effectively
  • Meet delivery schedules
  • Represent the company in a professional manner during all customer interactions

Qualifications

  • Strong driving skills with a valid UK driving licence and a safe, responsible approach to road use.
  • Experience in multi-drop deliveries, route planning, and working to time-sensitive schedules.
  • Ability to handle parcels and materials safely, including basic manual handling and loading/unloading tasks.
  • Good communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and coordinating with the operations team.
  • Reliable time management, attention to detail with delivery documents, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Familiarity with local and regional roads in and around the Greater Derby Area is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in courier, logistics, or transportation roles is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site full time, including occasional early starts, late finishes, or weekend shifts as required.
  • Known Cargo/CO certificate desirable.
  • ADR licence desirable.
  • DBS check mandatory before employment can start.
