Role Description
The Van Driver role at City Electrical Factors is a full-time, on-site position based in High Wycombe. The Van Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering electrical goods to customers, ensuring orders arrive on time and in good condition. Day-to-day tasks include checking delivery notes, planning efficient routes, conducting basic vehicle safety checks, and maintaining accurate delivery records. The role involves providing courteous, professional service at customer sites, handling goods carefully, and representing the company’s commitment to reliability and customer care. The Van Driver may also assist with warehouse duties such as picking and packing orders, stock handling, and coordinating with the branch team to meet delivery schedules.

- Valid UK driving license with a good driving record and experience operating light commercial vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of local routes and the ability to plan efficient delivery schedules.
- Attention to detail in checking orders, delivery notes, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Good physical fitness to safely load, unload, and handle goods, including manual handling of electrical products.
- Clear, professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Reliable time management skills, with the ability to work to delivery deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic IT skills for using handheld devices or systems to track deliveries and update records.
- Previous experience in delivery driving, warehousing, or distribution is beneficial but not essential.
- Commitment to safe working practices, including adherence to road safety and company health and safety procedures.
