The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Van Technician to join a busy and professional workshop environment.
This role would suit a skilled automotive technician with a strong background in servicing, diagnostics and vehicle repair who is confident working across both mechanical and electrical systems.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing light commercial vehicles to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with manufacturer and legal requirements.
Working Hours
0600 - 1430 or 1330 - 2200 with 30-min break, alternating each week - Overtime paid at Time and a Half
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing and maintaining light commercial vehicles to a high standard
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
- Carrying out repairs efficiently and accurately
- Using modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults
- Completing scheduled safety inspections
- Identifying and reporting any additional repair work required
- Repairing and replacing vehicle parts and components
- Checking vehicle systems and subsystems
- Following repairs through from initial diagnosis to completion
- Completing job cards and workshop documentation accurately
- Working within allocated repair times while maintaining high standards
- Supporting other technicians within the workshop when required
- Using workshop tools and equipment safely and correctly
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional working environment

What We're Looking For

- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a Van Technician, LCV Technician, Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
- A strong technical background in vehicle servicing and repair
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to follow repair processes and workshop procedures
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider workshop team
- Full UK driving licence and experience using modern diagnostic equipment would be advantageous
